Engineering to maximize environmental value
The number of responsibilities businesses have to the environment is growing, from issues related to climate change caused by greenhouse gases, resource depletion, to biodiversity. Efforts to consider the environment in the planning and design phases of products, services, and business models (environment conscious design) and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)—a method for evaluating the environmental impact of a product, service, or process throughout its life cycle—are the foundation for any company that wants to decarbonize or go further to realize a circular economy. SOLIZE grapples with the challenges of climate change and resource recycling by adding environmentally conscious design and LCA to the digital engineering skills we have honed over the years.

LCA/CFP support
SuMPO-accredited LCA experts conduct an LCA and measure the carbon foot print (CFP) according to ISO14040, ISO14044, and ISO14067. If customers request third-party evaluations, we cooperate with partner companies to conduct critical reviews and prepare reports to be released to the public.
LCA consulting
To help customers conduct an LCA and measure the CFP in a reproduceable way, we provide comprehensive support for developing rules, creating tools, and building models. To realize a more competitive CFP, we also support customers conduct research on emission intensity for their products and help them gather primary data. We also provide comprehensive support to realize an environment-conscious product development process that takes into consideration cost and interface with the PLM system. We handle a wide range of projects from human development, organizational structuring, and instilling a life-cycle mindset within the organization.
Incorporating LCA into the product development process requires tools that non-experts can use to calculate and analyze. LC DesignerⓇ is such a tool for engineers to review LCA. Various design ideas can be compared using BOM and other design data as inputs. The intuitive interface and UX allow manufacturing engineers to model a process flow suited to the company’s products.
The beta version of LC Designer is currently available, and we offer a free trial for customers to try it themselves.
