Press Release
Notice: Termination of use of email with password-protected attachments
As of 6/1/2023, employees at SOLIZE Corporation (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Yasutoshi Kudo) and its group companies will terminate use of encrypted ZIP files and all other password-protected file attachments when sending or receiving emails.
It is exceedingly difficult to verify the safety of password-encrypted files (through malware checks, etc.) when receiving emails. Malware exploiting password-encrypted files is on the rise, so we have made the decision to terminate use of password-protected files in order to further enhance information security for our customers, our partners, and SOLIZE Corporation itself.
When receiving an email with an encrypted ZIP file or other password-protected file attached, we will block receipt of that email, then send an email notifying both the sender and intended recipient that receipt of the email has been blocked. When sending a file, please send the file either as-is or compressed but without a password.
In addition, when sending an email, employees of SOLIZE Corporation will switch to sending a download URL from which the file(s) can be downloaded.
We appreciate the understanding and cooperation of our customers, partners, and related organizations as we make this change.
